I love to take care of my granddaughter Emi. She is my first grandchild. I took care of her when she was a baby and loved to take her to all her therapy classes.

Life can be a roller coaster. But roller coasters can be fun, like at Disneyland. After a year and a half of being closed due to the pandemic, we finally got to return to the Happiest Place on Earth. It holds a special place in our hearts because Emi enjoys the rides, the sounds, and the people watching. As soon as we arrived, it was as if no time had passed. We walked past the marching band playing and Emi started clapping and smiling.

I have mixed emotions about kids' birthday parties. I get excited when Emi gets an invitation to one because it means someone considers her a friend. Then there was a time, early one morning during Emi’s TK school year, that one of her classmates began handing out invitations to a birthday party. I overheard the classmate telling another friend,
