(The Emi Series 3/5: Young/Dad)

"Life can be a roller coaster. But roller coasters can be fun, like at Disneyland. After a year and a half of being closed due to the pandemic, we finally got to return to the Happiest Place on Earth. It holds a special place in our hearts because Emi enjoys the rides, the sounds, and the people watching. As soon as we arrived, it was as if no time had passed. We walked past the marching band playing and Emi started clapping and smiling. We got on the carousel and Emi held onto her favorite horse as I stood by her side throughout the ride. I took her for the first time on Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land and from all the laughing and clapping I heard in the video I took, she sure enjoyed herself. Things can sometimes be difficult with Emi – physically accessing places, multiple doctor visits and hospital stays, all the “extra” work and needs that come with global developmental delays – but it’s in these moments when I see the biggest smile on her face that I realize that all the 'work' is worth it."
