I love when I’m outside and Carly looks out the window at me and smooshes her face on the window and makes silly faces. She’s so cute, I call her “Sugar Face”

I wanted to take whatever it was that was making her so upset and caused so much discomfort and switch places with her. I could feel myself starting to get choked up. It was like she understood exactly what I was saying and exactly what I needed at that very moment.

Carly has had to learn to do everything. How to breathe, suck from a bottle and swallow. The first time she squeezed my hand, the waterworks started. I was so proud of her for all of that hard work! Who knew a hand squeeze would mean so much!
