The Brianna Series 6/12: Monique/Sister
(THE BRIANNA SERIES 6/12: Monique/Sister)
Brianna is very special and she is the best sister ever. I remember when she was born, I was so happy. Then my mom told me she has Down Syndrome. I didn't really know much about it so I didn't worry. Then I found out she was going to have open-heart surgery and I began to worry. I thought she might not live as I waited in the waiting room, hoping she would come back healthy and fine. When she came out of surgery, it was heartbreaking to see her in pain and the stitches on her chest. She got better and her stitches turned into a scar and then she learned to walk and jump. She is naturally bright and almost always happy.
One of my favorite memories is when I spent most of the day with her. I brushed her hair and I changed her clothes, which was always my favorite thing to do since she has so many clothes to choose from and always looks good in everything. Then I would feed her, play with her, and hug her. I watched her and we watched TV together. Whenever she hugs you or kisses you or does the "I love you" sign or waves hi to you, it just brings a smile to your face. She is always positive and cheerful. She is always so happy and nice and I cannot wait until she learns how to talk because she will be welcoming and kind to others. She loves singing and dancing to Baby Shark and all Spanish songs. She likes watching videos and clapping her hands. She is very energetic and very bright.
"Unique is different and unique is good."
