(THE TRISTA SERIES 4/7: Samantha, Sister)

Trista is 11 years older than me. This meant that she’s expected to be a role model, a caretaker, and a confidante.

She’s always looked out for me, her baby sister. When I was growing up, she made my lunches, cheered the loudest for me at all my volleyball games and made sure I was the best I could be.

As I got older and achieved some typical milestones (ie driving), I looked out for her at times, too. In some situations, our roles changed and evolved into something new. Now, at 22 and 33, she is still guiding me in the right direction, acting as a shoulder to cry on, and doing all she can to be the best big sister she can be.
