When I first went to preschool, Miles was already there because he’s my older brother. It was my first day as a Hummingbird and he was an Eagle. He was standing with me. I was feeling scared, but my brother was there for me. He comforted me, he hugged me and was holding my hand and that made me feel better.

As Miles and I got in the car to drive down to San Diego, I put some music on and suddenly I was weeping uncontrollably. The last few weeks had been a whirlwind and I hadn’t really considered any of my feelings regarding Miles graduating elementary school. All at once I was overcome with a flood of emotion and an intense sense of pride. Sure Miles was behind in school, but he had completed something that 6 years ago seemed like an eternity away

The country was going through its worst heat wave ever and few places had air conditioning. Miles stood in front of a fan, letting his body cool down. Waiters rushed in and out of the restaurant. Music played in the background, when suddenly “Beat It” by Michael Jackson came on and Miles was in his element busting out the moves. The bartender turned up the music.

My favorite thing is playing laser tag with my friends. And also playing basketball and football and video games and swimming with them. And I like watching movies with my family.
