“She calls me sister.”

We were born in different countries and come from different families, but she calls me her sister. We laugh together, cry together, have fun together and even argue now and then…just like sisters.

My friendship with Gabriella has given me the opportunity to do new things.  Gabriella invited me to my very first sleepover at her house and on the last day of school we went out to lunch together, all by ourselves. I invited her to my Junior Prom and we danced and laughed the whole night. Gabriella and I talk on the phone every day and we always laugh a lot when we are together. Once we went for a walk and I saw a snake. Gabriella laughed so hard at me for being afraid of the snake…which was probably more afraid of me. 

Having a friend like Gabriella makes me happy and I love it when she comes up to me at school and tells me she loves me or gives me a big hug. I feel very lucky to have her in my life. I protect and watch out for her and on days when I am struggling, she is the brave one that helps me through my tough times. She never stays mad at me and she loves me unconditionally…even if I am having a bad day.
