The Amina Series 6/6: Wanda, Grandmother
(THE AMINA SERIES 6/6: Wanda, Grandmother)
I remember all so well when our little princess was born. Living so far away I wondered if my granddaughter would really know who I am. When we first got the diagnosis that Amina has Down syndrome it was so shocking and hurtful. Then I thought about it and said God doesn’t make any mistakes. I was so grateful that he trusted our family with Amina, and what a joy she is to our family. She is the happiest and most cheerful little girl. She gives the best hugs, loves for us to cheer for her whenever she reaches a milestone, and works so hard at everything she tries to do. She never gives up until her mission is accomplished.
With me living so far away it’s such a blessing to FaceTime so I can see and talk to her, especially when she blows me kisses through FaceTime. The day she said “Gigi” made me realize she really does know who I am! The day she started walking and taking her first steps was so exciting because I was here on a visit. Amina and her team worked so hard for this day so when she did we had tears of joy. She is truly our little warrior. Thank God for you Amina, you are the best.
