"Despite Shiloh’s lack of vocabulary at age 5 (he has approximately 20-40 verbal words and 10-20 ASL), his comprehension is through the roof. No matter which way I take him to go see his grandparents, he gets excited before we even hit their block. If I drive through their neighborhood & don’t stop by to see them, he gets very mad & points in the general direction of their house.

As a 'loud person,' I have learned to listen to my son’s intentions as a deeper form of communication. His implicit communication & actions speak volumes about his character and resilience."
