There aren’t very many things that Sabine and I have in common, but the one thing we always love to do together is go shopping. Two years ago, Sabine was invited to a prom by one of her friends at their high school and we had the really cool opportunity to go dress shopping. I took her to the mall and we went to a few places and I remember her trying one on in particular and loving it so much we had a little dance party in the dressing room. Unfortunately, that specific one was out of stock, but she didn’t let it faze her, and said “it’s okay, it just means that one wasn’t the perfect dress for me”. Personally I would have been pretty upset if I had found a dress that I actually liked and it wasn’t available, but I’ve made a point to have this outlook on my life since then. If something doesn’t work out the way I wanted it to, I just think about how it must not have been perfect for me.
