The Nathan Series 4/4: Shawn, Tutor

I first became aware of Nathan through Facebook. Nathan’s mother (Karen) would often post pictures of their adventures together (train travels, Mardi Gras parades, Drum Corp, and dancing celebrations).  I always enjoyed reading the post about their adventures on Facebook and found myself smiling each time I saw pictures of Nathan and Karen enjoying life.  Strictly by coincidence, I was matched with Nathan through GiGi's playhouse tutoring program.  As his assigned tutor, I finally got the pleasure of meeting Nathan in person.  Working with Nathan each week is an absolute Joy! Nathan is always enthusiastic, always smiling, and always open to trying new learning plans!  During our tutoring sessions Nathan and I have settled into a routine of taking breaks to eat Doritos Chips (a love of ours), playing ball in the recreation room (we both love to play), and lots of drumming (another love of ours).  Nathan truly “rolls” with everything, and never complains.  Ask anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him and they will tell you, his enthusiasm for life is contagious!
