"A lot of times we take for granted all the little things that come easy to most kids like walking, jumping, climbing and sitting up. When it comes to Marisol, these things are more significant as I see all the time, effort and support that has gone into her being able to do these things. I can remember taking Marisol to the park to play on the playground and watching as she would do her very best to keep up with her big brother Matthew as he climbed the stairs and went down the slide, Marisol was right behind him trying her very best. One day Marisol put all her hard work and strength into climbing those steps that her brother climbed with ease and was so proud of herself, she had a smile on her face from ear to ear. I could see how excited she was to go up those stairs, after that little by little she got stronger and was able to navigate the playground equipment without assistance. Marisol is very determined and independent, there is nothing that she can’t do."
