The first time I met Mae, she was quiet and just taking in the scene at the community pool. As quiet as she was, I knew there was a spark inside her. I went in the water with another little friend and Mae soon followed us in with her swim instructor. As the lesson went on, I saw Mae’s personality start to come through. The spunk and sass she started to show just put an instant smile on my face. I later got to spend time at the beach with Mae. It was snack time and my girl was all about her snack, I jokingly asked if she’d share, and her response… No way!

Fast forward a year and our oldest son and Mae’s little sister were in the same class. Our families began to regularly get together to play. My boys absolutely love to play with EVERY Tapley kid. The last time we were at the house, Mae suckered me into pushing her up the ledge and into the barn on her ezyroller at least 30 times. The pure joy that she had and that contagious smile was all I needed.
