“I never imagined myself dancing around a public park pathway, blasting “uptown funk” and swaying my arms without a care in the world, that is until I met Linzey… Her lack of inhibitions has broken me out of my shell and freed me to just be me. I became her roommate three months ago when I moved into her family’s house to be closer to school. And since then we've become great friends and I’ve been a witness to her truly fabulous and unfiltered life.

I’ve heard her sing in the shower at the top of her lungs every night. (Mostly 'Barbie Girl' and anything by Kelly Clarkson). I’ve seen her set up her iPad with the perfect lighting to film work out videos on Facebook live. She taught me that the most important part of working out is the playlist. She always says 'the first thing you need to do to work out is pick your favorite song.'

And over the last few months, I’ve acquired a long list of nicknames, everything from 'blondie,' 'hippie,' 'Hannah Montana,' 'cat' and more. She’s the sassiest person I’ve ever met (literally ever), but also the sweetest.

There wasn’t a night I got home from work that she wasn’t waiting for me to eat dinner. And she never failed to gather my favorite snacks for a movie night. I can’t be around her and not smile. And now that walk (aka dance party) around the park on world Down syndrome day is one of my favorite memories ever.”
