Jeff and I had one goal: to meet and take a photo with Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock! When we had the opportunity to attend the RAMPAGE Movie Premiere we knew it was as close as we were ever going to come. That night was one of my favorite adventures with Jeff. Watching from afar as The Rock made his way down the red carpet I reminded Jeff just how busy The Rock would be, but I also knew how much Jeff likes The Rock and so I was determined to make sure it happened. Jeff was so excited and so was I!

What can I say about my friend Jeff? He’s the kind of friend who is like a burst of serotonin! Really! Jeff and I met a couple of years ago. Over ice cream and our love for movies our friendship has blossomed. I will never forget watching the new Aladdin movie in the theaters, I kept catching myself watching Jeff watching the movie.

When Jeff was born in 1979, I was devastated; I felt like part of my life was over. All I could see was his diagnosis, not his potential to touch the deepest parts of his dad. He has taught me so much about love, patience, perseverance and the things in life that really matter. Jeff is an indispensable member of our family. He has a great sense of humor with unbelievable compassion, empathy and insight. In our family’s worst moments, he is always at his best—saying just the right thing to comfort and heal.

I stood backstage overwhelmed with emotion as my son with Down syndrome, who was 23 at the time, stood on a stage and received a standing ovation from over 4,000 Young Life Leaders. I remember watching in tears thinking 'Gosh, I wish I knew about this moment when Jeffrey was born.'

In fact, there is so much I wish I would have known when I got his Down syndrome diagnosis. I wish I would have known he would bring the house down in Orlando.

I have over 1,000 dvds. I am a BIG movie fan and collector. I enjoy knowing about directors, release dates, and actors. I like animation, but I really like live action Disney films like, Jungle Book, Aladdin, Mulan and Lady and the Tramp. I also like the Mission Impossible series and other action films. I am into the Jumanji films right now. I love going to the movies with my friends. I am looking forward to when movie theaters reopen.
