The Jed Series 5/5: Maria, Therapist

(THE JED SERIES 5/5: Maria, Therapist)

Everyone looks forward to the weekend but my reason is because Saturday is my “Jed Time.”

Jedidiah greets me with a smile on his face and clapping hands ready to play and learn. As an infant, I worked with Jed virtually due to the pandemic. I could see Jed’s eyes light up as he recognized my voice when I talked or sang to him through the computer. Now in person, Jedidiah is the one who lights up the room with his smile, laughter and hugs.

Working with Jed has taught me to appreciate that the little things are what matter the most and to celebrate every milestone along the way. The simple joy of hearing his infectious laugh while trying to pop bubbles or watching his determination as he stacks blocks warms my heart. Each day is a bright opportunity for endless possibilities and I am so grateful to be blessed by sharing in Jed’s journey.
