There’s just about no place Ever would rather be than at the beach. He wants to sit himself down, right where the waves crash, and experience it all. Every time, he will scoot closer and closer into the water, until inevitably, a bigger wave knocks him over. I run to him fearing that he’ll be scared or hurt, but he laughs. He’s dazed and a bit shocked, but laughing heartily and so ready for more. This is such a clear picture of the remarkable way God has wired him. He scoots all-in each day, engaged and excited and happy to be alive. Some days are hard and the waves in his life have gotten big. He’s been knocked around and knocked down, but he looks up laughing again and again, ready to pop back up and keep enjoying the beautiful, wild, brutal life he’s been given. May I face everyday with such heart!
