"I lifted up my daughter from her carseat and slipped her legs through the holes in the seat of the shopping cart and together we rolled into our favorite store Target. There is so much I love to do with my daughter and shopping is definitely top of the list. She is my partner in crime as we zigzag through the aisles filling up our cart with way too much stuff we do not need! On most shopping trips Ever is usually the only person in the store with Down syndrome, so it’s not surprising that we get lots of looks. It doesn’t really bother us though. As far as I’m concerned she’s the most beautiful girl in the store so of course she’s gonna get looks!! One time when we were shopping a lady approached me and said “I’m so happy to see you taking your child on outings”. She explained to me that her friend keeps her little one with Down syndrome in the house and doesn’t do much with them. Hearing that made me feel even more proud to be Ever’s Mom. Knowing that something as small as a shopping trip was showing the world to accept her in a big way."
