"When we first received my brother's diagnosis, questions were running through my head a mile a minute. I was worried that he would never make friends, that he would never be accepted for who he was and many more worries. I remember the first time I held him all of those worries just washed away, and I knew that he was the best thing that had happened to our family. In retrospect all of my questions and worries weren't about Eli, but about the world around him, and through the last 7 years Eli has taught all our family to be unapologetically themselves no matter what the world around them might think. I've gained so much compassion and empathy through him and now I'm never worried about what the world might think, because I know he can change the world."
