Our mother died nearly 30 years ago, and I did what so many other siblings of people with disabilities do; I brought Eddie to live with me.

I could never capture in words all that he has added to my life. He has made me laugh with his silliness and cry with his tenderness.

He’s taught me patience, kindness, and gratitude. He has been a constant companion.

Bringing Eddie to live with me was a big adjustment and a sacrifice, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
