The Cole Series 6/6: David/Roommate

(THE COLE SERIES 6/6: Clay/Roommate)

Cole and I both love video games. When he moved in, we started playing a UFC game against each other and I thought maybe I should take it easy on him to let him feel at home. After losing 17 games straight, I decided I won’t be taking things easy on him any more! I’ve stepped up my game since, but I learned not to underestimate him. I am impressed with his planning and determination to learn and do something well. For example, Cole and I both love adventure. Shortly after moving in, he came with me and some friends on a climbing day trip to Malibu. There’s a great cliff overlooking the water which you can climb from the beach. But it’s a big cliff. Like 100 feet up. I didn’t expect Cole to want to climb, but he did. After making it up the first 10 feet, he started to reconsider, but I could see that determination of his to get to the top. By halfway, he was tired, but a crowd had formed and he didn’t want to let them down. He made it to the top to everyone’s delight, and I am still impressed thinking back on that moment and inspired. by his determination!
