(The Chris Series 2/12: Jane/Mom)

"My girlfriend and I took Chris to the park one day. He was five. I took a bat and ball. I tossed him the ball, he tried to hit it. I kept saying 'Christopher, keep your eye on the ball.' The next thing I know he put the bat down, walked over to me, took the ball from my hand and put it on his eye. He listened, literally!

Christopher thinks of the world in a literal sense. This taught me to be mindful of the way I provide instruction or teaching moments to my son. It has improved my abilities to even provide insight and instruction to my other children. We all learn in different ways and with Christopher being my last child I even had to learn to make parenting adjustments. Life everyday is so busy and he has shown us how to stay longer in the moment and appreciate the simple aspects of life. He cuts through the mess, gets right to the point."
